Poem -- I Extend My Hand

I extend my hand,
Inviting you to walk a new land.
Different from anything you've known before,
It waits beyond the door.
I chose you because you have strength
And fearlessly will go the length
Of a trip that reaches beyond
Where two souls have ever gone.

To get there we must
Live what others call just
A dream, a fairy tale, a lie –
But we can get there, you and I.

There are no roads to take us,
No train, nor ship, nor city bus.
The path is through the heart alone,
To reach a different kind of home.

The key is letting go of fear
To see the other side so clear.
